NEW JERSEY – For a feature story in the August Family Fun magazine, we headed to the Jersey Shore with models from Wilhelmina Philadelphia. We had a special opportunity to photograph a real-life mother and son (Camille and Matteo Savo) on location in Ocean City – it was their first time modeling together. For the reportage part of the story, we checked out Tent City in Ocean Grove, kite flying at Seaside Park Beach, Lucy the Elephant in Margate City, and Cape May diamonds at Sunset Beach. We also devoured plenty of Johnson’s caramel popcorn and Brown’s donuts. For more family vacation ideas, check out Family Fun online. See more from this shoot in our Travel portfolio. All prop and wardrobe styling for the models by Wendy Oswald Kinney.
Saugatuck, MI – When you shoot editorial interiors, you often get to witness something quite special – you see how families interact, how they make themselves at home, and how the home really does reflect who they are. At this cottage of Gwen and Jay DeBruyn, shot for Coastal Living’s March color-themed issue, home is clearly where the heart is. Decorated by Gwen, along with her daughter Amber (they run local decor/design shop Bayberry Cottage together), the rooms surround you with bright colors, florals, and patterns — creating a very cheerful retreat for the many grown children and young grandchildren. We had the pleasure of meeting some of them, and everyone made us feel like extended family during our two-day shoot. See our Interiors gallery for more or read about Gwen’s inspirations at Coastal Living. All styling by Liz Strong.
